Seeing the strength of the I and not strengthening it by not identifying with it or giving it a voice is a very powerful spiritual practice. And it does take practice before dis-identification from the ego becomes more our usual state than identification. We have to see that story spun by the egoic mind again and again before we begin to see ourselves as that which is aware of the story instead of the storyteller.
What About Now by Gina Lake
Being Random Ramblings on the road to Who I Really Am, through Mind Forest to Awareness Fields, and a cordial invitation to anyone who recognises a landmark to sit and sup with me awhile in this little corner of Cyberville Inn, and share their journey from here to Here, from now to Now. Pull up a chair. You're welcome. There'll be dancing later:)

Shine
"I am Light itself, reflected in the heart of everyone;
I am the treasure of the Divine Name, the shining Essence of all things.
I am every light that shines, Every ray that illumines the world.
From the highest heavens to the bedrock of the earth
All is but a shadow of my splendour."
Fakhruddin Araqi (1213-1289, Sufi Mystic & Poet)

Parrot Psychology
...There is a novel by Aldous Huxley called Island, written in his later years when he became very interested in spiritual teachings. It tells the story of a man shipwrecked on a remote island cut off from the rest of the world. This island contains a unique civilization. The unusual thing about it is that its inhabitants, unlike those of the rest of the world, are actually sane. The first thing that the man notices are the colourful parrots perched in the trees, and they seem to be constantly croaking the words "Attention. Here and Now. Attention. Here and Now." We later learn that the islanders taught them these words in order to be reminded continuously to stay Present...

Some Truth
Thoughts and actions are simply the result of cells doing work.
You are not your thoughts and you are not your actions.
You are the formless, silent awareness which observes them.
Ain't it just grand? Don't it make ya smile?

Good Infection
Most people focus on doing things as the way to make a difference.
What they don't realize is that the most powerful way to make a difference doesn't require you to actually do anything at all!
You start by changing YOUR world; You end up changing THE world.

Still Workin' On It :)
Nobody can be said to have attained the pinnacle of Truth until a thousand sincere people have denounced him for blasphemy.

Dance And Play!
"...less and less do you need to force things, until you finally arrive at non-action. "
This is the message of the Tao Te Ching, and it is true. Werner Erhard has taught, "Life will resolve itself in the process of Life Itself."
Byron Katie says that liberation is "Loving What Is".
And Stephen Mitchell calls non-action "...the purest and most effective form of action. The game plays the game; the poem writes the poem; we can't tell the dancer from the dance."
Perhaps the best thing you can do right now is nothing at all.
Neale Walsch

Love, Evolving
Spiritual self-confidence fills one's heart with a love that is not dependent on external circumstances for its fullness. It's a love that is unshakable, unmoving, and indestructible. Such love—a love that transcends yet simultaneously embraces the world—is what compels human beings to evolve, from their own deepest depths, and to become better citizens of our world and our cosmos. Knowing the mysterious source of that love is knowing before thought that life is good. That inherent goodness is who we really are.
