Waving, Not Drowning

What will rise must fall, and what will fall must rise. Rise and fall are natural to life. No rise is permanent, nor fall lasting. It is reality behind it all which is steady and dependent. ... Life is one living stream, continually running without beginning or end. Death is man's illusion. The change that hides man's existence from him he calls death. Life is still, but its flow, which is ever-moving, rises and falls in waves; it is this that creates an illusion of rise and fall. All we see is the manifestation of one Spirit in many and varied forms.

Hazrat Inayat Khan

Waves flow in all directions through infinite, eternal Space, giving rise to matter and time, and so events. The rise is always followed by the fall, and the fall by the rise. This is all that exists, and you are That.

And so is the Higgs boson.

This is beautiful. I especially love "The change that hides man's existence from him he calls death."

The fall gets a bad rap, doesn't it. It must come. Things must rise and they must fall. All of life seems to be some sort of learning to not overvalue the rise, and not demonise the fall :)

Fall and rise are just in fact ideas in heads, Sue, part of the drama we create and identify with, and valuing and demonising are likewise.

And it's more accurate to say, looking at what I've written, that I am That in which all this rising and falling occurs. Why? Because I observe it all, and I cannot be what I observe, any more than I can be a chair, a body, a mind... Thunderstorms happen IN the sky, not TO the sky, and it is no more or less 'sky' for a storm happening.

I AM That I AM, and it's fun.

There's some juicy 'blasphemy' to get my viewing figures up, and some 'craziness' to get me locked up:)
