Be Born in Us

We are all Saviours, if we choose to be.
We are all the Christ, but are dreaming that we're not.
We all bring Joy to the World, but have forgotten the fact.
Love continually kisses us from within, and we say yeah, whatever...

Let Earth receive her King, and Heaven and Nature sing!

The Agony and the Ecstasy

Men and women for whom this world was lit in an unusually bright light of awareness, and who by life and word have, more than others, formed and transformed that work of art which we call humanity, testify by speech and writing or even by their very lives that more than others have they been torn by the pangs of inner discord. Let this be a consolation to those who also suffer from it. Without it nothing enduring has ever been begotten.

The Play's the Thing

Be the Brilliance that you are, and not the Mind, which has hypnotised you. The Mind will push back, going crazy in your Light, but just observe. All the Mind has is patterns of thought, masquerading as You. Unmask it. Show it that all this struggle is unnecessary. When at last it sees this, it will quieten, as a fractious child quietens when it knows itself loved, as the prodigal on coming to its senses. It will rest, it will come home.

It has done its job of Awakening You to Your Self, and will now serve You gladly.

Exquisite, Cosmic Drama.

Streams of Living Water

When you break through to the truth, compassion springs up like a stream of water. With that compassion, you can embrace even the people who have persecuted you. When you’re motivated by desire to help those who are victims of ignorance, only then are you free from your suffering and feelings of violation. Don’t wait for things to change around you. You have to practice liberating yourself. Then you will be equipped with the power of compassion and understanding, the only kind of power that can help transform an environment full of injustice and discrimination. You have to become such a person — one who can embody tolerance, understanding, and compassion. You transform yourself into an instrument for social change and change in the collective consciousness of mankind.

Thich Nhat Han

Express Your Self

Oneness is very simple: everything is included and allowed to live according to its true nature.
This is the secret that is being revealed, the opportunity that is offered.
How we make use of this opportunity depends upon the degree of our participation, how much we are prepared to give ourselves to the work that needs to be done, to the freedom that needs to be lived.
The opportunity is everywhere at the same time, because this is the nature of oneness.

The Many from The One

Constantly think of the Universe as one living creature, embracing one being and one soul; how all is absorbed into the one consciousness of this living creature; how it compasses all things with a single purpose, and how all things work together to cause all that comes to pass, and their wonderful web and texture.

Climate Change

When you sense a fire within, a great consuming, it is that which is not you that is burning. Hold still in the clear cool centre of pure awareness, which is your true nature. In due time, a fresh breeze from that centre will blow away the remaining smoke, and the ashes, with your tears, will greatly nourish the soil.

Wordless, empowering peace blossoms, bearing sweet fruit at its maturing.

This is occurring in the magnificent Being called Humanity.

Hold still, folks:)

A Gift to be Simple

Don't let the mind look through your eyes, but see everything from pure awareness, which is your true nature.

This is too simple for words, and so seems impossible for the mind. But as you rest as the pure awareness, the mind matures and becomes its instrument, no longer striving to know, but abiding in simplicity. Great things arise from this, as the mind is freed from the chains of continual questioning.

This is a wordless, infinitely tender joy.

That is All

Nothing dies, except that which doesn't exist anyway.
Thoughts, feelings, fear, the body - these pass like the breeze.
Life is eternal, and you are That.

Rejoice, and be glad.
Dance the eternal dance.
Sing the song ever young.

Nothing real is ever threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein is peace.

Repent, and Believe the Good News

To me, this is one of the most profound statements made by any human being -

"The notion that all these fragments are separately existent is evidently an illusion, and this illusion cannot do other than lead to endless conflict and confusion. Indeed, the attempt to live according to the notion that the fragments are really separate is, in essence, what has led to the growing series of extremely urgent crises that is confronting us today. Thus, as is now well known, this way of life has brought about pollution, destruction of the balance of nature, over-population, world-wide economic and political disorder and the creation of an overall environment that is neither physically nor mentally healthy for most of the people who live in it. Individually there has developed a widespread feeling of helplessness and despair, in the face of what seems to be an overwhelming mass of disparate social forces, going beyond the control and even the comprehension of the human beings who are caught up in it."

David Bohm, Wholeness and the Implicate Order

We believe matter to be separate, fragmented, uncertain, and expend huge resources to discover its true nature, based on that belief. We believe ourselves separate by implication, and are trying to 'fix' this by every means possible.

Except by simply changing our view of reality.

All is One. Be That.

Life, Revisited

When you understand that you are not your body and that Who You Are never can, and never will, die, AND . . . when you understand that you will never be condemned by a judgmental, angry and vindictive God . . . THEN will your lifelong worries about your happy survival be over.

The end of these worries will transform you completely, causing you to interact with the world in an entirely new way. You will become, quite literally, a New Human. You will live, quite naturally, a New Spirituality. And you will create, quite spontaneously, a New Society.

You will be thrilled at the new way in which you look at life, see other people, and treat them. You will be uplifted by the new priorities you will set and the new ideas you will hold about what is important and what is not -- to say nothing of what you will think is important enough to kill each other over.

Something To Aspire To

May I be a guard for those who need protection
A guide for those on the path
A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood
May I be a lamp in the darkness
A resting place for the weary
A healing medicine for all who are sick
A vase of plenty, a tree of miracles
And for the boundless multitudes of living beings
May I bring sustenance and awakening
Enduring like the earth and sky
Until all beings are freed from sorrow
And all are awakened.

I Awake

Life stirs, crying ever more insistently, no more these sounds!
I am not this - I would be what I am!

In the wilderness of illusion and pain, prepare a way for me.

I take captivity captive, and darkness is forever banished.
Sorrow and sighing will flee away when I come into my kingdom.

Come to me, my children. Shine with my light.

All is energy, springing from the overflowing void. Matter is simply energy perceived by the senses as solid.

The Two Are One

As a man who has devoted his whole life to the most clear headed science, to the study of matter, I can tell you as a result of my research about atoms this much: There is no matter as such. All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter.

Being, Aware Pt 7

...When you’re living in the awakened way, in the awakened being that you are, you’re alone, and you’re finally comfortable with it. You’re alone, but you’re not lonely at all, because the only one who was ever supposed to meet you where you are—the only one who ever could meet you where you are one hundred percent—was you. Nobody else could ever fully meet you where you are—maybe ninety percent, maybe ninety-five. Nobody can meet you fully but you. When you finally do, then you don’t need anybody else to do it for you. Then you’re alone, more alone than you could ever imagine. And strangely—very strangely—you are more connected, more intimate, more at one with everything. And you would have never thought that those two could in any way be together: total aloneness and total oneness. You would have never guessed that that’s the way it would end up. But it does, and it always has....

Adyashanti

Break Out

The desire to . . . clamber out of the solitary cell of the self lies at the very heart of the age-old quest of the human soul: the quest for wholeness. That is, to feel the world as a whole, and the self as a whole within it, and, in feeling that wholeness, to live it.

In that regard, it seems to me that the primary freedom denied us by our [Western] culture's invisible walls is the freedom to feel the unbroken wholeness of the world to which we belong - which happens to be the world's primary reality.

Life, Revealed

All things fully experienced reveal their opposite. Grief fully experienced reveals the depth of love, and love fully experienced reveals the inevitability of loss. When the rubber hits the road, when Life rolls, all is revealed.

And it is very fine.

Being, Awake Pt 6

...When you’re living in your awakened being and living in an awakened way, power on any level is not an issue for you. It’s not interesting. The power to control another human being is not interesting. Intellectual power is not interesting. The power to control yourself is not interesting. The power that people want to give you is not interesting to you—not because it shouldn’t be; it’s just not. What would you want to do with it? You see that there’s nothing you want to do with it.

You realize, in the truth of your being, that you are the totality itself, but you have no interest whatsoever in doing anything with that knowledge, with using that knowledge...

Question Everything...

...especially those things you've been told never to question, until you see there's nothing you need to know anyway. Then have a good laugh about it, and get on with living:)

We only believe that of which we're uncertain. That which we know renders belief irrelevant. The only useful question to ask of anything is, what is true here? Not what we believe, or have been told, or have read, or fondly wish, imagine to be true, but what is beyond all doubt.

I find the only thing I'm certain of is, I Am. And that depends on what 'I' mean by 'I', of course;)

Stories We Tell Ourselves

Just as you have chosen to personify pure love as the character you call God, so have you chosen to personify abject fear as the character you call the devil.

Some on Earth have established rather elaborate mythologies around this event, complete with scenarios of battles and war, angelic soldiers and devilish warriors, the forces of good and evil, of light and dark.

This mythology has been mankind's early attempt to understand, and tell others in a way they could understand, a cosmic occurrence of which the human soul is deeply aware, but of which the mind can barely conceive.

Neale Walsch

I Am That

"There is a Reality which is Indivisible, One, Alone, the Source and Being of all; not a thing, nor even a mind, but pure Spirit or clear Consciousness; and we are That and nothing but That, for That is our true Nature; and the only way to find It is to look steadily within, where are to be found utmost peace, unfading joy, and eternal life itself."

Being, Awake Pt 5

...It’s a curious life you find yourself in. You find yourself… where you are. Not where I am, where you are. Where you really are. Where we really are. It’s a curious place to be (especially in the beginning), not to be driven by anything—pleasure or displeasure, helping or hurting, loving or hating. The only thing that will move you (and I don’t mean to be too poetic about this) is the same thing that moves a leaf hanging from a tree. It’s simply because the breeze blows that way. So you always know to do: The breeze blows that way, and that’s the way you go. You don’t ask questions any more. You don’t evaluate why the breeze is blowing that way because you know that you don’t know why. And you know you can’t know why. There’s never been a leaf anywhere that knows why the wind blows that way on that day at that moment. That breeze changes the orientation of your life, moment to moment to moment, simply because that’s the way life’s moving. And when you’re living in your awakened self you have no argument with the way it’s moving because it's the same as you are...

Adyashanti

I've frequently been called an atheist. This is by way of clarification of my position...

"Tell me," said the atheist, "Is there a God — really?"
Said the master, "If you want me to be perfectly honest with you, I will not answer."
Later the disciples demanded to know why he had not answered.
"Because the question is unanswerable," said the Master.
"So you are an atheist?"
"Certainly not. The atheist makes the mistake of denying that of which nothing may be said... and the theist makes the mistake of affirming it."

Anthony de Mello

I'm glad to have cleared that up;)

Being, Awake Pt 4

...The truth of your being doesn’t crave happiness; it couldn’t actually care less. It doesn’t crave love, not because you are so full of love, but because it just doesn’t crave love. It’s very simple. It doesn’t seek to be known, regarded highly, or understood. When you’re living what you are in an awakened way, there’s no ideal for you any more. You’ve stepped off the entire cycle of suffering, of becoming; you’re not interested...

Being, Awake Pt 3

...When everyone is saying, “I hope that happens to me,” you remember when you did that. You remember that you didn’t find a solution to that. You remember that the whole idea that there was a problem created all of that.

When you’re being what you are, when you’re living the awakened life, there’s nobody to forgive, because there’s no resentment held, no matter what...

Being, Awake Pt 2

...When everybody around you has a whole host of ideas and beliefs about a whole variety of things, you don’t. Everyone on the path is getting there; you haven’t gotten anywhere. Everyone is climbing the mountain; you’re selling hiking boots and picks at the foot in the hope that if they climb it and come back down, they may be too exhausted to do it again. When everybody else is looking to the next book, to the next teacher, to the next guru to be told what’s real, to be given the secret key to an awakened life, you’re not. You don’t have a key because there’s no lock to put it in.

When you’re living what you are in an awakened way, being simply what you’ve always been, you’re actually very simple. You basically sit around wondering what all the fuss is about...

Being, Awake

While the world is trying to solve its problems and everyone around you is engaged in the same, you’re not.

While everybody around you is trying to figure it out, trying to arrive, trying to “get there,” trying to be worthy, you’re not.

While everyone thinks that awakening is a grand, noble, halo-enshrouded thing, for you it’s not.

While everybody is running from this life right now, in this moment, to try to get there, you’re not.

Where everybody has an argument with somebody else, mostly everybody else, starting with themselves, you don’t.

Where everybody is so sure that happiness will come when something is different to what it is now, you know that it won’t.

While everybody is looking to achieve the perfect state and hold on to it, you’re not...

The Greatest Secret

The very act of giving something away causes you to experience that you have it to give away. Since you cannot give to another something you do not now have, your mind comes to a new conclusion, a New Thought, about you - namely, that you must have this, or you could not be giving it away.

This New Thought then becomes your experience. You start "being" that. And once you start "being" a thing, you've engaged the gears of the most powerful creation machine in the universe - your Divine Self.

Whatever you are being, you are creating.

The circle is complete, and you will create more and more of that in your life. It will be made manifest in your physical experience.

This is the greatest secret of life.

Neale Walsch

Amen

Be a Bringer of the Light.

You and I are One, both now and even for evermore.

Go now, and make of your life a statement of this truth.

Cause your days and nights to be reflections of the highest idea within you. Allow your moments of Now to be filled with the spectacular ecstasy of God made manifest through you. Do it through the expression of your Love, eternal and unconditional, for all those whose lives you touch. Be a light unto the darkness, and curse it not.

Be a bringer of the light.

You are that.

So be it.

This is love. Laws, commandments, rules, and regulations are necessary for those who are cut off from who they are, the Truth within. They prevent the worst excesses of the ego, and often they don't even do that.

The Need For A Saviour

It is sometimes asked why, if God is all-pervading, there is need of the special manifestation of a messenger such as Krishna, Buddha, or Jesus. The answer is given in the words of the Bhagavad-Gita where Shri Krishna says, 'When Dharma is hindered, then I am born.' This means that a manifestation, which the people recognize as a saviour or messenger, always comes when the necessity arises. ... In all ages and to all peoples the message of God has been sent. And that message has been kept by those who received it in the form of a scripture, and the name of the messenger and his honour have been held high by those who have followed that particular message. No matter at what time in the history of the world the message came, one thing is sure: that it has always penetrated the heart of man and left its impression and its influence, ever multiplying and spreading, proving it to be the message of God. ... Since it is the message of God, whenever it comes it is from the same source. When it came a thousand years ago it was His message; when it came a hundred years ago it was His message; and if it came today it would be also His message.

How ignorant man has been through all the ages! And he shows his ignorance even today, for whenever the message has come, man has fought and disputed and argued. Man has held fast to one prophet and ignored the others, because although he knew his religion he did not know the message. He has taken the book as his religion without recognizing the message. If that were not the general tendency, then how could Jesus Christ with His most spiritual message have been crucified? There had been prophecies, and besides prophecies the Master himself was the evidence of his message, as the saying has it: 'What you are speaks louder than what you say.' And how thickly veiled man's eyes must be by the religion, the faith, the belief he holds, for him to accept only one messenger and to reject the message given by other prophets, not knowing that the message is one and the same!

It is one thing to love and another thing to understand. The one who loves the messenger is a devotee; but the one who knows the messenger is his friend. There is a tendency in the human race which has appeared in all ages: it leads man to accept every expression of the message which has been given him, to be won by it, blessed by it, and yet to fail to recognize who the messenger is. The followers of each form of the message profess devotion to their Lord and Master, by whatever name he had in the past, but they do not necessarily know the Master. What they know is the name and the life of the Master that has come down to them in history or tradition; but beyond that they know very little about him. If the same one came in another form, in a garb adapted to another age, would they know him or accept him? No, they would not even recognize him, because it was not the message but the form that they accepted in the past; a certain name or character; a part but not the whole.

The Christ Within All

The function of the soul is to indicate its desire, not impose it.
The function of the mind is to choose from its alternatives.
The function of the body is to act out that choice.
When body, mind, and soul create together, in harmony and in unity, God is made flesh.
Then does the soul know itself in its own experience.
Then do the heavens rejoice.

Enquire Within

It is natural to experience peace, but life in the world is not natural. Animals and birds all experience peace, but not mankind, for man is the robber of his own peace. We have made our life so artificial that we can never imagine how far removed we are from what may be called a normal, natural life. It is for this reason that we need the art of discovering peace within us; we shall not experience it by improving outside conditions. Man has always longed for peace and has always brought about wars. We all say we are seeking for peace, so where does war come from? It comes because the meaning of peace has not been fully understood. Man lives in a continual turmoil, in a restless condition, and in order to seek for peace he seeks war; we shall not have peace till everyone begins to seek peace within first. What is peace? It is the natural condition of the soul.

O peace-maker, before trying to make peace throughout the world, first make peace within yourself!

Also the heart is like a stone and the fire which is hidden within it can only be brought to life when it is struck by a hard material. Then the fire appears. So it is with the heart. The fire which is life, love and feeling and which is the most sacred thing in us, is hidden in the heart as the fire in the stone. When it is struck hard the fire appears. That is why we receive great blows in life. The person becomes thoughtful as soon as the fire appears, and he looks at things differently. From life's changes and great blows the wise realize that joy, rest and peace come.

Testing, 1...2...

At long last, a two point Spiritual Litmus Test to see whether
or not any old religious doctrine or modern day "ism" is worthy of celebration:

1. Does it empower all, without conditions and favoritism?
2. Is everyone loved, forgiven, and accepted eternally?

Just another step towards ending war, prejudice, and slow driving

Resurrection

What is arising now is not a new belief system, a new religion, spiritual ideology, or mythology. We are coming to the end not only of mythologies but also of ideologies and belief systems.

The change goes deeper than the content of your mind, deeper than your thoughts. In fact, at the heart of the new consciousness lies the transcendence of thought, a new-found ability of rising above thought, of realizing a dimension within yourself that is infinitely more vast than thought.

Heavenly Intent

Every good or bad word or deed is reproduced before us, though it seems as in a dream. If we watched life keenly, we should see how true this is. Joy, sorrow, love, all depend on our thought, on the activity of our mind. If we are depressed, if we are in despair, it is still the work of our mind; our mind has prepared that for us. If we are joyful and happy, and all things are pleasant, that also has been prepared for us by our mind. It is only when our minds work without control that unhappiness, sorrow, trouble, pain, or whatever we experience comes without our intention. No one could wish to create hell for himself; all would create heaven for themselves if they could; and yet how many allow their minds to create these things for them, regardless of their own intention.

You Cannot Be Serious

This need to "make God happy" emerged from your errant thought that God is somehow not happy. This is a crazy idea, because God is Happiness Itself. Yet you have clung to your idea of a brooding, displeased Deity.

Your idea that God is not happy - and that you are the cause - is what has created the insane basis for insane religions to inspire people to act insanely.

Held

In every direction the world fades into this Single Eye, into Consciousness, into Silence. Things merge seamlessly with No-thing. All forms, sounds, tastes, smells, textures, thoughts, feelings… are here within this boundless Being. There isn’t a speck of dust left out, not one electron spinning lost somewhere out there beyond the One that you really are.

Imagine a mother hen with her soft strong wings folded round her chicks, holding them all within her warm and loving embrace. How wonderful to be surrounded by such warmth and love! You would feel so safe, so happy, so loved. The One that you really are surrounds the whole world in such a manner, soaking into everything like water into a sponge – except more so, for no gaps exist between the One and the world, no dividing line between this emptiness and this fullness. This is the love that excludes nothing and no one, that enters fully into the lives of every being - that is every being.

Who is now within your embrace, within your world-wide arms? Who are you now becoming?

Hit The Road, Jack

Most illusions drop off us when we become an inhospitable host, when they are no longer fed, when they sense they are no longer welcome.

When there is too much reality around.

Essential Nutrition

...Essence sees life more truly. When you are identified with Essence, you see life more as it really is, without the filter of your conditioning. From Essence, life is interesting, challenging, fun, beautiful, touching, and rich. Experiences aren't categorized, judged, or labeled as good or bad. They just are, in all of their richness and complexity, because in truth, a thousand stories could be told about any experience, and those stories would still not reflect the whole experience. The ego attempts to define experience in words, according to its conditioning, which divorces you from the complexity and reality of the experience. It turns experience into ideas, which sap the life out of life. Living from the mind is like eating a picture of food instead of the real thing. No wonder so many people feel empty and unfulfilled. Only reality truly satisfies.

A Tale Told By An Idiot

Seeing the strength of the I and not strengthening it by not identifying with it or giving it a voice is a very powerful spiritual practice. And it does take practice before dis-identification from the ego becomes more our usual state than identification. We have to see that story spun by the egoic mind again and again before we begin to see ourselves as that which is aware of the story instead of the storyteller.

Parrot Psychology

...There is a novel by Aldous Huxley called Island, written in his later years when he became very interested in spiritual teachings. It tells the story of a man shipwrecked on a remote island cut off from the rest of the world. This island contains a unique civilization. The unusual thing about it is that its inhabitants, unlike those of the rest of the world, are actually sane. The first thing that the man notices are the colourful parrots perched in the trees, and they seem to be constantly croaking the words "Attention. Here and Now. Attention. Here and Now." We later learn that the islanders taught them these words in order to be reminded continuously to stay Present...

Love, Evolving

Spiritual self-confidence fills one's heart with a love that is not dependent on external circumstances for its fullness. It's a love that is unshakable, unmoving, and indestructible. Such love—a love that transcends yet simultaneously embraces the world—is what compels human beings to evolve, from their own deepest depths, and to become better citizens of our world and our cosmos. Knowing the mysterious source of that love is knowing before thought that life is good. That inherent goodness is who we really are.

Knowledge

For centuries people have been condemning Adam and Eve. They are said to have committed Original Sin. I tell you this: It was the Original Blessing. For without this event, the partaking of the knowledge of good and evil, you would not even know the two possibilities existed! Indeed, before the so-called Fall of Adam, these two possibilities did not exist. There was no "evil." Everyone and everything existed in a state of constant perfection. It was, literally, paradise. Yet you didn't know it was paradise and could not experience it as perfection because you knew nothing else.

Shall you then condemn Adam and Eve, or thank them?

Flow

Think about your experience of those moments when you are most creatively engaged. What does it feel like? Being in a creative “flow” can be ecstatic and, simultaneously, there is an often surprising sense of urgency to bring into being that which you can sense is possible. That’s why great artists or scientists will work day and night, neglecting to eat or sleep. They are driven by a vision, something just beyond their reach that will not let them rest until they have brought it into reality. That drive is the very same impetus that caused the whole universe to burst forth, fourteen billion years ago, and is now expressing itself through the body, mind, heart, and talents of an inspired human being.

When you feel that creative flow, often you discover a part of yourself you are not normally aware of but which feels more like your “self” than the person you usually think you are. It’s like plugging in to a deeper source of energy and passion that transcends whatever limitations you ordinarily assume. A deeper, more authentic part of your self is creatively released. That’s why such moments are so fulfilling—it’s not just the creative work you produce, but the experience of being more alive, more connected, more in touch with a sense of meaning and purpose.

Where Am I?

At the centre of my life is this Awareness whose very nature I find is freedom – freedom not only from thinghood but from thoughts and feelings of all kinds. Certainly from problems of all kinds. As the source of those things, the origin of those difficult things, its business must be to leave them alone, free to be what they are.

Who I really am doesn’t in itself change what I like to call my human nature. What it does is to place it. This difficult and sometimes heart-rending stuff is not denied. In fact it is far more honestly reckoned with and cheerfully taken on board, from the state of freedom at the centre, than ever it was from that illusory person.

Now there’s no necessity to deny and every reason to acknowledge these troubles in so far as they persist – loneliness and depression etc. It is part of the price of involvement in the world to have these feelings, some of which are agreeable, some of which are disagreeable, some of which are tragic. I can’t exist, can’t express at all, without this dualism out there. The dualism of good and evil, beauty and ugliness, black and white, etc. is the inescapable condition of expressing into the world from the place that is free of those dualities.

So it’s not a case of being free from these things, in the sense that one abolishes them, but of being free from them in the sense that one locates them. They are no longer central. This awareness not only removes one from them – without removing oneself from them - but in the long run and when persisted in, it changes them.

Explaining God. Really.

If speaking to a spiritual novice during the darker days of human evolution,
one might explain God, metaphorically, as if "He" were angry,
testing, and judgmental.

To someone a bit more savvy, during easier times, one might explain God,
metaphorically, as if "She" were always loving, nurturing, and forever
conspiring on our behalf.

And to someone on the verge of a total breakthrough,
during the latter days of human evolution,
one might explain God by asking them to turn up the music,
take off their shoes, walk in the grass, unleash the dogs, free the canary,
catch a breeze, ride a wave, dance every day, get up early, take a nap,
stay out late, eat chocolate, feel the love, give stuff away, earn it back,
give some more, and laugh... Really.

Really, really.

In its true sense spirituality is not a plaything or a pastime. It has nothing to do with enhancing you or your status in the dream state. Rise, Shine, For Your Light Is Come

Enlightenment is awakening from the dream of being a separate me to being the universal reality. It’s not an experience or a perception that occurs to a separate person as the result of spiritual practice or cultivated awareness. It doesn’t come and go, and you don’t need to do anything to maintain it. It’s not about being centred or blissful or peaceful or any other experience. In fact, enlightenment is a permanent non-experience that happens to nobody. The separate person is seen through, and you realize that only the supreme, universal reality exists, and that you are that.

The joke is that you are now and have always been what you are seeking. Everybody is already the supreme reality, Buddha-nature, or Christ-consciousness, except that most of us are asleep to this fact.

If you can define God then your definition is, by...err... definition, false. If 'God' means anything, it is beyond the human mind's capacity, but not the heart's, which wordlessly 'knows'. 'God' is the word we use for 'that which cannot be defined'. It is the essence of existence, without which nothing is. Language gives up here. But the very nature of this 'undefinableness' is Love, and we, and all that is, are unique, ever-evolving expressions of Love.

A Mystic's Creed. Sort Of:)

I don't see 'God out there' as in any way meaningful. I see it as a hangover from tribal religion. If I were to put it into words, I'd say that the very fabric of reality is Love, Life, Joy, Peace etc., and when a human being like Jesus, Buddha etc., actually gets that at the root of their being, the rest of us deify them 'cos they seem to be from another world. They are, of course, only seeing this world as it really is, and inviting us to do the same. They are Humanity evolving, and showing us how to do it. Someone once said, the purpose of Christianity is not to create Christians, but to awaken the Christ within all of us, and the purpose of Buddhism is not to create Buddhists, but to awaken the Buddha nature in all of us. Great-Grand-Daddy Of Lies

There's nothing more absurd, and yet deceptive and destructive, than an ego that thinks itself enlightened. It is a most curious beast, as it is itself entirely a product of our identification with thought. Something unreal imagines itself to be Reality!

The only way to escape from this creature - which only has the power we give it - is to stop feeding it, step right back, and let it exhaust itself. It then dissolves, and the true self, the One Reality, takes over again. It is always there, of course, just observing this nothingness squirming about in its delusions of existence.

God is indivisible. This is so marvellous because it means the whole of God is where you are – not your little bit of God, but the whole of God. If we resist this, it’s because we are resisting our splendour, our greatness. Born Again. And Again. And...

Remember that every act is an act of self-definition. Every thought carries the energy of creation. Every word is a declaration of what is true for you.
Look to see what you are doing today. Is this how you choose to define yourself?
Look to see what you are thinking today. Is this what you wish to create?
Look to see what you are saying today. Is this what you desire to be so?
Each moment of your life is a holy moment, a moment of creation. Each moment is a new beginning. In each, you are born again.
This is your journey to mastery. It is a journey that will lead you out of the nightmare of your own construction and into that wondrous dream which your life was intended to be. It is a journey that will lead you to your meeting with the Creator.

See Here Now

What if your contribution to the world and the fulfillment of your own happiness is not dependent upon discovering a better method of prayer or technique of meditation, not dependent upon reading the right book or attending the right seminar, but upon really seeing and deeply appreciating yourself and the world as they are right now?

How would this affect your search for spiritual development?

Something To Aim For

"Be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. Talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet. Make all your friends feel there is something in them. Look at the sunny side of everything. Think only of the best, work only for the best, and expect only the best. Be as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. Give everyone a smile. Spend so much time improving yourself that you have no time left to criticize others. Be too big for worry and too noble for anger."

Shocking

I was struck by Enlightening in a brainstorm.

Hopped Up

...Finally, as I continue on my journey, I come to a place of pure certainty. The Hope which became Belief has become Knowing. I suddenly Know - simply KNOW - that this is How It Is. I know it, because the IT that IS this, I Am. The Perceiver and the Perception have become One. The Creator and the Created have merged. Unification has occurred. We are, I am, All of It is, ONE.

Do you understand what I'm saying here? I sound like I'm on drugs, right? That's the problem with spiritual clarity. It can be very difficult to share your thoughts with others because you start to sound crazy. People will think you're hopped up. Heck, I look at what I just wrote and I think I'm hopped up.

Yet maybe it's time for just that. Maybe it's time for all of us to hop up to a New Level. To take the next step, to make the next leap - a quantum leap into new understanding, new awareness, a new experience of ourselves and of what it means to be human. Maybe this will be the year in which we do that. And maybe enough of us can do that to make this next 12 months the year that the world itself changed forever. Or at least began to.
